Roblox Error Code 262: What It Means and How to Fix It
Updated October 15, 2026
Error Code 262 usually appears as "There was a problem sending data, please reconnect." It means your device lost its connection to the game server. Your account is not banned and nothing is broken.
Quick fixes (try these first)
- Press Reconnect.
- Check whether Roblox itself is down (see our 'Is Roblox down?' guide).
- Turn off any VPN.
- Close Roblox completely and reopen it.
- Restart your router, or switch to a wired connection if Wi-Fi is weak.
If it keeps happening
- Allow Roblox through your firewall or antivirus.
- Don't run the browser version and the Microsoft Store app at the same time.
- Log out of Roblox and log back in.
- On Windows, clear the Roblox temp files: press Win + R, type %temp%\Roblox, and delete the folder's contents.
- Uninstall and reinstall Roblox as a last step.
