Roblox Image IDs and Decal IDs: How to Find and Use Them
Updated October 15, 2026
An image ID is the number Roblox uses to identify a picture. Games with picture frames, posters or custom signs ask for one. Here's how to get the right number.
How to find an image's ID
- Open the Creator Store on the Roblox website and choose Decals (or Images).
- Search for what you want and click on it.
- Look at the web address: the long number in the URL is the ID.
- Copy just the number.
Decal ID vs image ID
When someone uploads a picture, Roblox creates two things: a Decal (which you see in the Creator Store) and an Image (the actual texture). They have different numbers. Many games accept a decal ID and convert it automatically. If a game shows a blank image, it probably needs the image ID instead.
In Roblox Studio, paste a decal ID into a Decal's Texture property — Studio swaps it for the correct image ID for you. Copy that new number.
Why an image won't show up
- It's still waiting for moderation.
- It was removed for breaking Roblox's rules.
- You used a decal ID where the game needs an image ID (or the reverse).
- The game only accepts images approved for that experience.
