Roblox Games That Give Free Items (and Every Other Way to Get Free Stuff)
Updated October 16, 2026
Roblox used to run big official events where you'd play games to earn free hats. Today most free items come from three places: free UGC items given out inside games, official promo codes, and items in the catalog that simply cost 0 Robux. Here's how each works.
1. Games that give free UGC items
UGC means user-generated content — avatar items made by creators rather than Roblox. Many creators make limited items that cost 0 Robux but can only be claimed inside their game, usually after you earn enough points by playing or staying AFK. Once the limited copies run out, they're gone.
- BBC Wonder Chase (by The BBC Official): an obby from the BBC that gives weekly free limited items to top scorers during its events.
- Freeze for UGC: earn Time and Spins by staying in the game, then unlock UGC rewards.
- Free UGC Obby (AFK or Play): earn points per second or by finishing stages, then claim the creator's free items.
- AFK For UGC: earn one point per second while AFK and trade points for free limited items.
- UGC Limited Obby (AFK or Play): earn gems over time or through the obby to claim free UGC.
2. Roblox promo codes
Promo codes are official codes from Roblox that unlock specific items. Some are entered at roblox.com/promocodes, others inside Roblox's own event games like Mansion of Wonder and Island of Move. See our promo codes page for every working one.
3. Items that are always free
The Roblox Marketplace has thousands of items priced at 0 Robux — classic faces, hair, emotes, bundles and more. Filter the Marketplace by price to find them, or see our free items page, which lists the most popular free items and the free limiteds that are still in stock.
4. Game codes that give in-game items
Many games give free in-game items — pets, weapons, spins and boosts — through codes. These only work inside that game, but they're the most reliable free rewards on Roblox. Our codes pages list the current codes for each game.
